Boss, Inc. has an opportunity with a $1B+ enterprise operating a complex, multi-site workforce. This executive-level role partners with the CEO, executive team, and PE sponsors to build and scale a world-class people and culture strategy aligned to growth, operational reliability, and long-term value creation.

Ideal background includes enterprise HR leadership, experience supporting 5,000+ employees across multiple states, and success in PE-backed environments. Experience with M&As required.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Build a unified, enterprise people strategy that aligns with company mission, growth objectives, and PE value creation targets.

  • Design scalable org structures, role architectures, and workforce models

  • Establish an HR operating model with clear shared services

  • Architect a high‑throughput recruiting: drive time‑to‑offer and time‑to‑start improvements; reduce cost per hire; improve quality of hire through structured selection, skills assessments, and realistic job previews.

  • Implement career paths and progression ladders for field roles and supervisors; grow internal mobility and bench strength.

  • Enable modern learning delivery (LMS, microlearning, mobile content, field-friendly modalities).

  • Partner with Safety to embed “Safety Leadership” into all leadership development.

  • Deploy a consistent, outcomes‑based performance management system with goal setting, check‑ins, and objective calibration across brands.

  • Optimize benefits across a diverse workforce (medical, retirement, EAP, wellness), balancing competitiveness, affordability, and utilization.

  • Own the HR technology roadmap (e.g., HRIS/Workday/UKG/SuccessFactors), ATS, LMS, and workforce management tools; drive data integrity and self‑service.

  • Build an analytics capability and dashboarding for executive and PE board reporting: retention, turnover, TRIR/DART, hiring velocity, internal mobility, diversity representation, cost of labor, and productivity indicators.

  • Establish HR shared services for consistent, scalable processes (onboarding, I‑9, E‑Verify, employee files, leave management, employee helpdesk/Case management).

  • Ensure compliance across federal and multi‑state employment laws (EEOC, FMLA, ADA, wage & hour, background checks), and industry requirements (OSHA, DOT, drug/alcohol testing, fit‑for‑duty).

  • Manage union and non‑union environments as applicable; maintain productive relationships, negotiate agreements when required, and uphold standards.

  • Lead people due diligence in acquisitions; assess org health, leadership talent, compensation/benefits, policies, and cultural alignment.

  • Execute 100‑day integration plans (systems, org structures, harmonized policies/benefits, change management).

Job requires:

  • 15+ years progressive HR leadership; 8+ years leading enterprise HR in multi‑site, field‑intensive, safety‑critical industries (utilities, infrastructure, construction, vegetation management, energy, logistics). PE‑backed portfolio experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven success supporting 5,000+ employees across multiple states; union and non‑union environments.

  • Bachelor’s required; Master’s in HR/Business/Org Development preferred.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: OSHA, DOT, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, FLSA/wage & hour; labor relations; I‑9/E‑Verify; drug/alcohol testing programs.
